Motorcycle in my garage

September 3rd, 2002

The natural consequence of shopping is purchasing. So, I did. All it took was a visit to The Sport Shack in Minot. They are easily the most helpful dealership I have been to.

I thought anything bigger than a 500cc bike would be too much to handle. But I took the plunge and bought a 2001 Suzuki SV650S. After riding 100 miles on it, I am surprised at how easy it is to handle. The newbie that I am, I killed the engine a few times and made a few sloppy turns. But it didn't rip my arms off or tip over.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly respect the bike's power. While riding, I'm always thinking "how can I NOT kill myself today?"

As it turns out, this is the perfect bike for me. I can afford it, the insurance is inexpensive, the bike is easy enough to handle, and the engine is big enough that I shouldn't outgrow it.

Without further adieu, here it is.
